Firstly, what's with the name 'The Gilded Crow'?
Like most things I come up with, it's mostly just because I liked the sound of the two words together. There's no real big story behind it or real deep meaning, only that I believe everything in life should be beautified. Even crows can be beautified. Even though they're pretty already...in a gothic, lustrous-black-feathers kinda way...
Why did I create The Gilded Crow?
This jumble-of-things blog came about because I was sick and tired of having to conform to a 'type' of blog, like a straight book blog, or a straight fashion blog or whatever.
I wanted something where I could post everything and anything, something more personal, where I could chat about pretty daily finds with friends and likeminded strangers...
And not be harassed on Facebook by people annoyed at me clogging up their Daily Facebook Feed with my 'important' discussions!
Having moved a bit geographically in the last couple of years, I feel like everyone is all over the place, and thought it might be nice to post pictures about what's happening in my life, and get and give advice on fash, food and all things daily when I can't just drop in on your doorstep! Feel free to converse, comment, hate or like what I post, so I can catch up on all your lives too, because I miss you and I don't get to see you often enough!
If you're someone I know in 'real life', I'd like to post pictures of you from time to time if we're catching up and looking fabulous, but I'll attempt to ask your permission first. If I post a photo that you think you look totally fug in or whatever, let me know and I'll be sensitive to your needs and will take it down, especially if you beg.
For those of you who have been recommended, who like to stalk randoms who have similar likes in life, or have just stumbled across this little corner of the blogosphere on a whim, WELCOME. I love hearing what you have to say, people making random suggestions and I also enjoy being introduced to new blogs, if you have them.
